I know how difficult it is to make a decision to file for bankruptcy; worrying about bankruptcy legal fees shouldn’t make it harder.
Legal fees are set according to the complexity of your situation. It’s not a cookie cutter approach. If you have a simple case, your fee will be less than if you have a difficult one.
Court filing fees are $335.00 to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and $310.00 to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, whether for one person or a married couple, plus a pre filing debt counseling program and a post filing financial management program that together costs $60. There are some modest due diligence costs as well . My fees and costs will be set at the end of our consultation after I learn what I need to know about your situation.
Included in my services are the representation letters which I promptly send to your creditors to stop telephone harassment, and then answering the creditor calls that then come to my office instead of your home. Many of my clients pay me on semi-monthly installments. We send out the representation letters and begin taking the creditor calls promptly after you make your first installment payment (or after you pay in full, of course).
